Summer Course 2016

Mind Craft Academy is proud to announce the start of brand new summer courses scheduled to start early June. Course descriptions are given below, pricing and exact schedule to be posted soon! All courses are 8 weeks long, unless specified.


Model United Nations (MUN) Debate Club – A course for middle and high schoolers looking to expand their speech and debate experience. Students will begin by learning about the United Nations, its purpose, structure, and core values. This will be followed by introducing the regulations, procedures, and format of a United Nations assembly while also building a solid foundation in good debate practices. Students will be act as representatives to various countries for which they will be encouraged to follow current events and conduct individual research on global events to be able to effectively argue their country’s standpoint in mock debates against other delegates. By acting as country representatives, students will be able to immerse themselves in the nuances of international relations and diplomatic communications. (2 times a week for 2 hours each. Tuesday and Friday 10:00 to 12:00)

Fees: $80 per Week


Math Enrichment – This course is designed for students of any age looking to build a proficiency in specific math topics, improve their mental math and improve their general problem solving capabilities. For high school students, we specialize in teaching geometry, algebra 1 and algebra 2. (5 times a week for 1.5 hours each. Monday thru Friday 3:00 to 4:30)

Fee: $150 Per Week


Writing Enrichment – For students of any age looking to improve their writing skills. We will be focusing on building and using vocabulary correctly, introducing different styles of writing (personal statements, comparative essays, argumentative essays, persuasive essays, précis writing, creative writing, etc…). (5 times a week for 1.5 hours each. Monday thru Friday 1:30 to 3:00)

Fee: $150 Per Week


Introduction to Programming – For middle and high schoolers, an introduction to C++ will be taught. Along with basic programming techniques and practices, we will emphasize concepts of variables, arrays, functions, loops and debugging using SCRATCH (https://scratch.mit.edu/), an application that visually represents programming concepts. By the end of the course, students will be able to build, debug, test, and run basic programs in C++. Students will need to bring their own laptops. (3 times a week for 2 hours each. Monday, Wednesday, Friday 1:30 to 3:30)

Fee: $120 Per Week


Basic Computer Literacy – Students from Kindergarten to the 5th grade will bring their own laptops and cover a wide range of topics needed to excel at effective computer usage. This includes computer vocabulary, operation, safety, effective word processing, creating stunning presentations in Powerpoint, organizing and manipulating data in Excel, picture editing and other skills. (3 times a week for 2 hours each. Monday, Wednesday and Friday 3:30 to 5:30)

Fee: $100 Per Week

Chess Club – Students will learn the techniques of chess, followed by more advanced and competitive strategies to improve their skills. They will practices by competing with each other. A tournament will be held at the end of the course with the winner receiving a certificate and prize. (3 times a week for 3 hours each. Monday, Wednesday, and Friday 1:30 to 4:30)

Fee: $120 Per Week

Art Camp – This Art Camp will introduce multiple art forms to students. These Art forms include drawing, painting, working with clay, oil pastel, and sculpting. A colorful camp that will bring students inspiration, creativity and imagination. (3 times a week for 2 hours each. Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday 4:30 to 6:30)
