Mindcraft Academy Celebrates The 10th Year of Our Summer Camp Program! Whether your child is a returning student or a new student, we welcome them to another exciting summer filled with fun, learning and adventure! Each week campers will immerse themselves in hands-on activities, ranging from STEM (Science,Technology, Engineering & Mathematics) to outdoor fun trips, creative arts and crafts, chess, Chinese language class, baking, hand sewing, performing arts, sports, educational games and much, much more. We understand that summertime memorieslast a lifetime, and we are committed to delivering many for our students! Below are the 9 themes we will also be covering, one for each week of our program.
Earth’s 4 Spheres Week 1: 6/8 – 6/12 Planet Earth is our home. Students learn about plants, animals, weather, climate, oceans, and the seasons. They will gain agreater awareness of their environment, helping them to understand the importance of taking care of our planet.
Leadership Week 2: 6/15 – 6/19 Speaking in public can help children develop confidence in their communication skills. In a society that increasingly relies on technology, it is more important than ever for children to learn how to communicate effectively with others.
Life Skills Week 3: 6/22- 6/26 Life Skills are necessary for survival, self-sufficiency and productivity in everyday life. For children, it’s important to start learning these different life skills so they have plenty of time to practice them before they reach adulthood. Knowing etiquette, manners, decorum, and body language will differentiate good habits from bad ones.
STEMsters Week 4: 6/29 – 7/3 This module bursts with incredible science facts about the way our world works. From biology, chemistry, physics and natural history, students will discover incredible secrets, awesome theories and conduct fun experiments as they embark on their journey of scientific discovery!
Money (Financial Literacy) Week 5: 7/6 – 7/10 Learning about money equips our students with the confidence, knowledge, and skills to manage their money effectively now and in the future. Developing good money habits is a critical skill that children need to thrive throughout their lives.
Junior Shark Tank Week 5: 7/13 – 7/17 Find the creative entrepreneur within you! Think of a product, develop it, promote and market it. Understanding the importance of demand is how it is created and the marketplace where products can be sold. Learn about business growth, business challenges and the sweet rewards of profits and success!
Our Community Week 5: 7/20 – 7/24 By observing and participating in the community, students learn about themselves, their world, and how to develop relationships with others. Each student has unique strengths, interests, and perspectives to contribute and serve others, learning to acknowledge, respect and value each other’s differences.
The American Dream Week 7: 7/27 – 7/31 What has made America different and unique from every other country over the last century? Freedom, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. Defining the American Dream, where with hard work and dreaming big, you can still achieve your dreams. Learn about the constitution, our rich history, our independence and the unique privileges we all share.
Fabric Fusion Week 8: 08/3 – 8/7 A hands-on exploration into the creative arts of textiles, vinyl sticker creation, and t-shirt design. Fabric Fusion is the perfect setting for young artists to discover the joy of making and personalizing their creations. They can then show and wear their art proudly!
